Data Deletion
Data Deletion and User Data Requests
Last updated: 11/06/2026
Discord users and server administrators can request access, correction, or deletion of retained Sidelight data where applicable.
How to make a request
Send your request by email to contact@example.com. Use the same email for deletion, correction, access, privacy, or server configuration data questions.
What to include
To help identify the relevant records, include:
- Your Discord User ID.
- The server name or Server ID, if the request relates to a specific server.
- A clear description of the request, such as deletion, correction, or access.
- Proof of account or server authority where needed to protect the privacy of others.
Limits on deletion
Some data may be retained where necessary for security, abuse prevention, moderation records, legal obligations, audit integrity, or legitimate operational reasons. If data cannot be deleted immediately or completely, Sidelight will explain the reason where appropriate.
Feature impact
Deleting or correcting data may affect bot features. For example, removing configuration, role workflow, moderation, or engagement records may prevent related features from working as expected in a server.
